Application Process

• All applications for the next school year are due no later than December 1st. We accept applications only one year in advance.
• Our birth date cut-off for Kindergarten is July 1st. Children applying for TK must be 4 by January 1st of the year they intend to start TK.
• Four Open Houses are held each year in the fall for prospective parents. Open Houses for 2012-2013 admission will be held on October 5, October 26, November 2, and November 16 at 9:30 am (lasting approximately 2 hours). An additional open house, for students who are too young to apply for the 2012/2013 school year, will be held November 30th at 9:30 am. To reserve a space at an Open House, please register online. • The School assesses each child's readiness through a school visit and an evaluation form from the child's previous school.
• School visits for Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten applicants are small group sessions scheduled on a Saturday morning during January and February. TK and Kindergarten applicants will be notified of the visit date and will be asked to call to schedule a parent interview.
• Parent interviews are scheduled from November through February.
• Applicants for Grades 1 through 6 visit during a normal school day and these visits are scheduled on an individual basis. Every effort is made to schedule the parent interview at the same time as the student visit. Students applying for grades 5 or 6 must take the ISEE exam prior to February 1st and have results sent to Village School.

• Although no applicant is guaranteed admission, siblings who qualify receive preference. Sibling applications are due by September 30th and siblings are evaluated in October.
