Parent Education – Workshops led by Barbara Ruth Williams

Assistant Head of School/Director of Parent Education, Barbara Ruth-Williams is also a certified Parent Education Instructor and for 20 years was the Parent Education coordinator at a low cost mental health center. She provides an assortment of Parent Education classes for both current and applicant parents that cover many topics of interest to today's parents.

For the 2011-2012 school year the following topics were scheduled:

  • You Don’t Always Get What you Order - what to do when your child is not interested in the things you want them to be
    Tuesday, Nov. 8th – 9:30 AM, Library
  • Freedom and Fences - finding the right balance of restrictions and room to explore for your child
    Wednesday, Jan. 11th – 7:00 PM, Library
  • Raising a Resilient Child - how to help your child acquire the skills necessary to deal with life’s blows
    Thursday, Mar. 8th – 9:30 AM, Library
  • For Dads Only - an annual event at Village strictly for Dads.
    Thursday, May 17th – 7:00 PM, Library

Additional "Breakfast with Barbara" sessions will be scheduled throughout the year for parents of currently enrolled students.

Also, PATcamp (Parent and Technology camp) classes will be held each month. Please email Jayme Johnson, Director of Academic Technology, for more information on PATcamp classes.
