Meet the Advancement Team
Sue has been Village School’s Director of Institutional Advancement since 2001. She is responsible for the oversight of fundraising, volunteerism, community service, alumni relations, neighborhood relations, public relations, marketing and outreach. Sue earned an Administrative Degree and previously worked as the Director of Admissions at Oakwood School for many years before coming to Village School. She draws upon that experience to assist our Admissions Department in the admissions process for incoming students, as well as in the placement of graduating students.
Alison is happy to join the Village School community. She has experience working at various educational institutions and nonprofit organizations. She graduated from Pomona College with a BA in Politics and an MBA from Pepperdine University. Prior to coming to Village School, Alison worked as Associate Director of Advancement at St. James’ Episcopal School in Los Angeles. She also served as Assistant Director of Admission/Coordinator of Diversity at The Buckley School and Volunteer Coordinator at Venice Family Clinic. Alison was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. Outside of work she enjoys trail running and is involved in a variety of philanthropic work.
Chris has been at Village School since 2006. Working as a freelance graphic designer for many years before coming to Village School, he ultilizes those talents to design and oversee the production of Village School publications and print materials, as well as working with the marketing committee to ensure Village School’s clarity in messaging and developing the VS brand. Chris also handles photography and video production for various Village School applications and promotional videos.
Sara graduated from George Mason University with a BA in International Relations. She was an Operations Manager for a high tech firm in the Washington, D.C. area prior to choosing to stay home with her son, a class of 2012 Village alum. During her time as a parent at Village School Sara did an extensive amount of volunteer work with the Village School Parent Association (VSPA), serving as chair of the Auction Benefit and Eco Fair and as a member of the VSPA Executive Board for five years. Additionally, she supported many committees at Village School such as the Cultural Fair, Book Fair, Community Service, Let’s Party, Halloween Carnival, Teacher Hospitality, Vintage Village, and was a Room Parent. Sara is excited to contribute her experience in event planning and administrative support to all the events at Village School.
