Village recognizes that independent school is an enormous financial commitment, and for many families, that is a barrier to them considering it as an option for their children. In order to make a Village education available to the widest range of socio-economic backgrounds, we offer payment plans and flexible tuition.
Payment Plans
Payment plans allow families to spread tuition payments evenly out over the course of ten months, with the first installment due in July and the final installment due in April. Families who elect the 10-month plan must purchase the tuition protection plan insurance and pay the finance and administration fee.
Flexible Tuition
(see link on the right side of this page for further information)
Approximately 20% of Village families pay flexible tuition, which allows them to pay a tuition amount that is specific to their unique financial circumstances. Flexible tuition ranges from 1% to 90% of full tuition.
To be eligible for consideration for flexible tuition, families must complete the flexible tuition application, which is administered by FAST, an independent organization that helps schools around the country assess how much a family is able to pay in tuition. In determining eligibility, the flexible tuition committee will consider, among other factors, all sources of income, debts, expenses, and discretionary spending. As part of this process, FAST requests the most recent federal tax return with all schedules and W-2 forms.
Flexible tuition decisions are made independent of admissions decisions.
As at all independent schools, applications for flexible tuition must be resubmitted on an annual basis in order to determine continued eligibility. However, if a family’s income and net assets remain constant, they might expect a similar level of award from year to year.
Access to the flexible tuition application portal will be posted here in mid-October. The flexible tuition application deadline is December 31, 2024.
